Akala grew up in Omao, the Southside of the island and her Family originates from Mana, the Westside of Kaua`i. Hula & Singing has always been a part of her life. She started dancing at the age of 6 and when she became of age, she performed professionally for 10 years at several different Luaus on Kauai. After marriage & to raise her 3 children, she put performing on the side. Akala has been singing for as long as she can remember. In her High School year’s, she sang in Chorus for Kauai High & Waimea High. She has never taken a professional role in singing but, is singing for the Church she currently attends for the past 10 years. Akala is happily married to Bryan Aiwohi and has 3 beautiful children: BJ age 16 ½, Bronson age 15, & Brylyn age 11. She enjoys spending time with her family & is actively involved in all of their activities. Now that her children are much older, and was given this opportunity, she did not hesitate in becoming a part of this awesome experience. Akala feels what is special about this show & why this show is of the highest quality, is that each & every person involved with this production, was handpicked by the Producer, Nani Marston. She is so proud & grateful to be a part Luau Kalamaku, a once in a lifetime journey.
